Hi, I'm Andy Rutledge and I live in Lincoln, Nebraska. Right now this website is just this page, but it may eventually become a kind of professional profile of the cool stuff I've worked on.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln

I've been interested in computers and programming since I was a young lad. I graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

GIS Workshop

I'm the lead software developer and vice president of GIS Workshop, Inc. which is based here in Lincoln. I've worked there for over eleven years and I specialize in building GIS software that involves some sort of spatial analysis. I always say GIS is "maps on computers" to laypersons. Check out the company website for more information about us.

Magic: The Gathering

I love to play Magic: The Gathering. I'm also a Level 2 DCI Judge. My favorite format is Commander; I've built a number of Commander decks. You can catch me at Hobbytown at Southpointe in Lincoln usually Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday or at Next Level Gaming typically on Monday and Thursday. Yes, I play Magic about five days a week.

I put together an online Magic proxy deck builder which is useful for printing out cards for casual games or for competitive testing.

Chicago Cubs

I enjoy watching sports. My favorite sport to watch is baseball and my favorite pro team is the Chicago Cubs. I've been a fan of the Cubs since I was six years old and have become a rather devoted fan in the last several years. I usually make it to a Cubs game or two at Wrigley every summer.

I also like to watch football; my favorite team is (naturally) the Nebraska Cornhuskers. I've come to enjoy pro football more than I used to; I don't really have a specific team that I follow, but I always root for former Nebraska players.

I also enjoy playing sports. I occasionally partake in a local bowling league, and even took home the gold medal several years back in the Cornhusker State Games. I've played softball during the summer with our office softball team. I've also been known to play ping-pong and badminton from time to time.

CAKE

I love music! My favorite band is CAKE. I like most genres but most of all, hard rock and metal. You might think that odd, because CAKE is neither hard rock nor metal. I also play the guitar, acoustic and electric, just for fun.
